They are our classics.
Here are mine, and a bit about why.
The Sandlot 2 - i first watched this when i was 11 or 12, and immediately fell, in love with the story...and of course the main guy. So i watched it again and again over 10 times in the space of the weekly rental time, and again when i was older too. i began to see more of it, and it became a simple movie which i loved.
Balto - Apart from Disney movies this was probably my all time childhood favorite, as well as it's 2 sequels. I love how i can still remember how uplifted it makes you feel at the end, a real sense of joy, that is hard to find these days. It warms the heart.
Robin Hood - my favorite Disney movie of all time and who can blame me. Disney movies are some of the greatest of all time, and this one is know different. A daring hero, who was a fox. How i loved it. It will never leave my heart.
Peter Pan - the non animated version. What can i say, this one sprouted much love. One that has lasted from the time the movie came about. <3 i have been a hopeless romantic my whole life. I always pictured myself as Wendy, she likes making stories, so do i.
City of Ember - This one is just classic me, Fantasy, a post apocalyptic world. Yes classic me. I love studying the world and learning about it, following the story and the trials the characters face. I still need to read the books.
Flipped - I think this one surprised me. I only watched it tonight. A story of First love, like the sandlot 2, and set in the 60's. i don't know why but i like those movies, the ones set in the past, but in our world. It was a sweet tale, and it has captured a place in my heart.
Oh, there are probably so many more that i could say, if i could remember them. But These are the ones that have truly stuck. And you know what? i think they always will.
So now i will ask you:
What movies are your little treasures?
I would really love to know.
I don't think I have an overly mature taste in movies, I mostly just go for comedy. From my childhood I love the Home Alone series, and a mysterious movie which i watched at my friends, didn't know the name of, it was in black and white, hilarious and I have never found it again. The mystery probably helps it out as well. Corey has shown me a few more thought provoking movies lately, and I do like Good Will Hunting =)And Braveheart. I think every guy likes Braveheart.
